On July 3, 2007, the Canada Foundation for Innovation announced the
award of a $400,000 grant to The University of Winnipeg (UW) towards the
formation of the In Vivo Experimental Animal Magnetic Resonance
Microscopy
Centre which will be located at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC).
Principal Investigator Dr. Melanie Martin, Physics, UW and co-applicants
Jim Peeling, Chemistry UW and Marc Del Bigio, Pathology University of
Manitoba, will use the centre to study disorders of the Central
Nervous System at a miscroscopic cellular level. The Centre is also
supported in part by UW, HSC and the National Research Council Institute
for Biodiagnostics.
